LOST GEMS

Thursday 17th August 2006

So we started rehearsals for the forthcoming tour today and had our customary "what songs shall we play" argument - it's always a balancing act trying to get the right blend between all the old favourites that people want to hear, new songs that we're looking forward to playing and the odd lost gem that we'd love to revive but worry that half the audience won't know. That's when someone (ahem) had the bright idea to draft in you lot to help us pick songs for the set that don't often get an airing.

We decided to set up a poll so you can vote for the ones you want to hear. It can be absolutely any song from our entire back catalogue. I'm probably not supposed to say this but if you want to send each other copies of obscure b-sides so you can decide what you want to hear we don't mind... just as long as if you like them you try to buy them at some point in the future. Also we have already got some more brand new songs to play. If you'd like to hear one of these just click vote for "new song".

The arenas and forests were a lot of fun but we wanted to play in more intimate venues this time around. Although I enjoy the big shows there's something about being able to see the whites of peoples eyes that takes a gig to an even more exciting place. We also wanted to get out to a lot of places we rarely get out to. Consequently this is our biggest ever tour... which considering it's the fourth time we've toured this album is pretty amazing really. We're putting in a lot of work to try to make these gigs the best we've ever done.

This year has been one crazy year. A year that's seen us headlining festivals, having our biggest ever hit, another number one album, doing the world cup song and playing massive outdoor shows. Hell at one point they were asking us to do that Come Dancing thing. But the one thing we keep getting asked about, the one thing it keeps coming back to is our amazing fan base. It seems like every other phone call with my manager he mentions that we should thank you all in some way for sticking by us through what has been a hell of a roller-coaster ride. Not only that but the way so many of you throw yourselves behind GETNO each time we release a single makes us really proud. There may be a christmas gift in the pipeline but I'm not telling you what it is because that would spoil the surprise. But these gigs are a start... as our tenth anniversary approaches it's our gift to you.

So get voting... because if you don't vote and you don't get to hear a song you've always wanted to hear you've only got yourself to blame.

Love

Danny
